SCIO® is one of eight companies evaluated for payer data analytics offerings

WEST HARTFORD, CT, May 19, 2015 – SCIO Health Analytics®, a leading health analytics services company, has been ranked as a “major player” in providing payer data analytics services, according to a recently released report by IDC Health Insights, “IDC Marketscape: U.S. Payer Data Analytics 2015 Vendor Assessment.”

The report describes SCIO’s payer analytics solutions and tools as “very flexible,” and also references SCIO’s customer satisfaction with support levels.

“SCIO® continues to be an aggressive market player in providing analytics solutions and tools that enable our customers to securely and accurately analyze and develop insights using operational, financial and clinical data so that in turn, they can offer their members the best available options, particularly in the areas of payment efficiency, quality and disease management,” said SCIO Health Analytics® CEO Siva Namasivayam. “As the health insurance industry continues to evolve and with the rapid acceptance of value-based payments, it is critical that SCIO® keep pace with our clients’ and markets needs in the payment and delivery of care and wellness services.”

The report provides various examples where SCIO® provides “a unique approach to measuring customer engagement*,” including a pilot with a state Medicaid program that combines incentives and outreach efforts to further define the member population and explore ways to make effective behavior change.

SCIO® also is currently working with a customer to develop a mobile application that will push health plan data into a member-facing app, including information on benefits, primary care contact information, specific member diagnoses, drug allergies and emergency contacts.

Among the inclusion criteria for the IDC Marketscape Payer Analytics Marketscape was vendors that offered standalone analytics solutions that are not a bundled component of another solution area (such as care and disease management solutions or a core claims system) and/or solutions that are only sold to existing clients of other related products, as well as vendors whose product(s) are developed and supported as a specific payer solution.
